Pathways & Opportunities


​Tustin Connect provides unique pathways and opportunities for students. Some of the unique opportunities include:
​
  • Earn College Credit - Students can earn college credit though tuition free community college courses or through CLEP assessments.  ​​
  • ROP Internships & Courses -  Students can enroll in courses and participate in internships through Coastline ROP (Regional Occupational Program). 
  • Part-time Employment - Students can learn valuable work skills, earn a paycheck, and high school credit for their work experience. 
  • Dual-Enrollment - Students are eligible to enroll in courses (including Advanced Placement) at their high school of residence and participate in activities, clubs, and other extracurricular activities.

 Tuition-Free College Classes & Credit

Tustin Connect students can take tuition-free courses at local community colleges and earn both college and high school credit. A 3 unit college course equates to 10 high school credits. Students can potentially earn a year or two of college credits while in high school, which can save a significant amount of time and money.

Hands-On Learning & Internships

Coastline ROP ​specializes in programs and courses that focus on career technical skills and industry-specific skills.  Students can earn high school credit while enrolling in one of the hundreds of different hands-on learning opportunities throughout Orange County. Interested students can schedule an appointment with an ROP counselor through Tustin Connect.

College Credit Through CLEP

The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a group of tests that assess college-level knowledge in thirty-six subject areas and provide a pathway for earning college credits without officially enrolling in college courses. CLEP credits are accepted and can be transferred to 2,900 colleges and universities. Click here to see where CLEP transfer units are accepted.

Freshman Of College for Free

Take tuition-free, high quality online courses from top institutions for college credit (through CLEP). Free online courses provided by MITx, UC BerkeleyX, Arizona State, NYU, Columbia University, RiceX, George Washington University, and others. Learn more. ​

Employment Opportunities 


​Part-time jobs are an excellent way for students to learn valuable skills, earn a paycheck, and earn high school credit. Students can earn up to 10 credits a semester through the Tustin Connect  work experience program. If you need help finding a job, our counselors can assist and provide valuable guidance.  Employers love hiring Tustin Connect students since they have much more flexibility in their schedule compared to traditional students. 

Dual-Enrollment & Extracurricular 

Tustin Connect students are eligible to enroll in 1-2 courses (including Advanced Placement) at their TUSD high school of residence. In addition, students are eligible to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities at their high school of residence. 

The Tustin Connect counselors coordinate and approve dual-enrollment opportunities with Foothill High School, Tustin High School, and Beckman High School.
